Who We Are
Understand your iron levels, in seconds
A free, instant suite of iron-panel calculators — including iron deficit, transferrin saturation, and iron-binding capacity — built on clinically-recognized formulas. No sign-up, no data stored, just answers.
Our Mission
To provide free, accurate, and transparent calculators for understanding key markers of iron health — each one showing its work, citing its sources, and helping people understand the “why” behind the number, not just the number itself.
What Drives Us
Our Values
Speed, accuracy, and accessibility guide everything we build.
- Speed — Results in milliseconds. Health information should be instant.
- Accuracy — Formulas are sourced from published literature and shown with a worked example, so the math can be checked.
- Accessibility — Free, no sign-up, works on any device.
Who Built This
This site is built and maintained by an independent developer and health information researcher. Not a clinician — and that distinction matters.
The goal is straightforward: make iron panel interpretation accessible and transparent. Every calculator on this site shows its formula, cites its sources, and includes a worked example, so anyone — patient, student, or clinician — can verify the math themselves.
How We Source and Check Our Formulas
Every formula on this site comes from published clinical literature or standard medical references. Each one is cross-checked against at least one additional source, and each calculator page shows a worked example so the math can be verified independently.
Where a formula depends on a clinical judgment — like target hemoglobin or the storage-iron assumption in the Ganzoni equation — the calculator lets you adjust it rather than locking in a single default.
What This Site Is — and Isn’t
Is: A free educational tool for interpreting iron panel values, calculating transferrin saturation, deriving UIBC, and estimating iron deficit from published formulas.
Isn’t: A diagnosis, a treatment plan, a medication order, or a substitute for clinical judgment. It can’t see your lab methods, your medical history, your medications, or your symptoms — all of which matter when interpreting iron studies.
Important Medical Disclaimer
We are developers and health information researchers, not medical professionals. Our calculators are educational tools based on published formulas that have been cross-checked against clinical references — but they are not a substitute for clinical assessment or confirmation of a medication dose.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
